Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
“ScreenAssist,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to the operator of screenassist.app and the ScreenAssist desktop application (collectively, the “Service”). For privacy questions, write to legal@screenassist.app.
2. What we collect
- Account data: email address, password (hashed), display name, and any optional profile fields you provide (team name, position, jersey number, height, avatar photo).
- Game and play data: game metadata you create (opponent, date, score), play-by-play tags, statistics, and notes.
- Video content: game footage and short play clips you upload from the desktop application, including any individuals visible in those clips.
- Technical data: IP address, user agent, and basic request logs retained for security and abuse prevention. We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- Cookies: a session cookie set by Supabase Auth, and (when you visit a public profile link) a small viewer cookie. See our Cookie Notice for details.
3. Why we collect it
- To create and operate your account.
- To store and sync your games, plays, clips, and highlights between your devices.
- To render public profile pages when you choose to share them.
- To secure the Service and prevent abuse.
- To respond to your support requests.
Our legal bases (where GDPR applies) are: performance of our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent for any public sharing you initiate, and legal obligations.
4. Who processes your data on our behalf
We use the following sub-processors:
- Supabase (database and authentication) — hosted on AWS in the European Union.
- Cloudflare R2 (object storage for clips, photos, and avatars) — globally distributed.
- Vercel (web hosting and serverless functions) — globally distributed.
These providers act as data processors under our instructions. International transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the sub-processors listed above, with people you explicitly grant access to (e.g. by sharing a public profile link), and where required by law.
6. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, games, plays, clips, photos, and avatar from our active systems within 30 days. Backups containing your data are overwritten or expire within 90 days. Aggregated, non-identifying data may be retained.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, Israeli Privacy Protection Law, and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (you can do this directly from Settings, or by writing to us).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16. If you are under 16, you may use the Service only with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal data without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete the data.
9. Footage of other people
When you upload game footage, you confirm that you have the rights necessary to do so — including consent from any identifiable individuals (and, for minors, their parents or legal guardians). If you appear in footage uploaded by someone else and would like it removed, contact legal@screenassist.app with a description and we will act promptly.
10. Security
We use TLS for data in transit, encryption at rest with our sub-processors, signed URLs for video access, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with an updated “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify registered users by email.
